Time for some St. Patty's day fun in Gwinnett. Check out what's happening this Saturday and join in on the festivities!
One block of Perry Street in downtown Lawrenceville will be shut down for most of Saturday for the annual St. Paddy’s on Perry block party festival. The event is from 2 to 9 p.m, but the street will be shut down till midnight for continued festivities.
Aurora Theatre’s St. Paddy’s Comedy Spectacular on Friday and Saturday. Shows will be at 7:15 and 9:15 p.m. each day. Tickets cost $18 and can be purchased at www.auroratheatre.com. The theatre is located at 128 E. Pike St. in downtown Lawrenceville.
The first-ever Irish Fest Norcross will take over South Peachtree Street from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be an Irish breakfast served beforehand, at 10 a.m., at the Norcross Masonic Lodge. It will include eggs, rasher, black and white pudding, beans, grilled tomatoes and toast. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for kids, and can be purchased at Taste of Britain, VSOP Taproom, Good things and Antique Traditions.
An after party will be held at Farmhouse 17, located at 141 S. Peachtree St., with Guinness beer, green lime-flavored Champagne and music by Irish-inspired Bluegrass singer Sean Bulow from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The Suwanee Kiwanis Club will hold its 8th Annual Shamrock 5K at Suwanee Town Center Park. Prizes will be given out to the runners who wear the most festive costumes that have a St. Patrick’s Day theme. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, but registration will open at 7 a.m. Participants can register before Saturday — there will be a packet pickup from 4 to 8 p.m. at Suwanee City Hall where anyone who didn’t register early can sign up. The registration cost is $30 at packet pickup or on the day of the race.
The eighth annual Suwanee Beer Fest returns to Suwanee Town Center Park from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Tickets for the festival are $55 leading up to the event and $60 at the door. General admission includes unlimited samples of more than 300 craft beers, live music, festival games such as giant Jenga and cornhole, a social lounge tent, food trucks, local artists and vendors, and St. Paddy’s festivities such as Irish dancers and bagpipe players.
Buy Local Braselton and Braselton LifePath will host PathParade and PathQuest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the LifePath, beginning at S&S Ace Hardware, 3740 Village Way in Braselton. The festivities begin with the parade with “festooned” golf carts, bicycles, scooters, wagons, skateboards and walking groups.
The Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center will host Tales and Trails from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, offering families a chance to learn how Irish tales and folklore are connected to nature. Admission is free but participants must register at www.gwinnettEHC.com. The center is located at 2020 Clean Water Drive in Buford.
Mall of Georgia: Shake Your Shamrock event from 6 to 9 p.m. in The Village entertainment district.
Tannery Row Ale House will host a St. Paddy’s Day Party from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. with bagpipers, green beer, live music from Hum Ripple and DJ Eddie Matos.
